After the vows are spoken and the dance floor clears, something magical happens the calm after the celebration.
Aaron and Alina chose to capture that magic through a post-wedding adventure session in Santa Cruz, a few days after their wedding. Their energy was soft, connected, and full of presence the perfect space to just be together.
This session was part of my Signature Weekend Experience, a package that allows couples to slow down, connect deeply, and celebrate their love story beyond the wedding timeline. Love That Keeps Unfolding
Your stories don’t end at the wedding they evolve.
A few days after their wedding, Aaron and Alina joined me for an adventure session in Santa Cruz, where we spent a full day chasing light and connection from the roots of the redwoods to the golden edge of the Pacific.
These kinds of sessions are my favorite way to slow down, tell the story after the celebration, and document who you are when everything settles into love’s quiet rhythm.
Why a Post-Wedding Adventure Session?
There’s something incredibly freeing about taking photos once the pressure of the big day is gone. You’re not worried about timelines, guests, or dresses just connection.
Whether it’s walking barefoot on the sand, watching the sun melt into the Pacific, or climbing cliffs with your partner’s hand in yours. these moments become some of the most treasured memories.
The First Half: Among the Giants at Henry Cowell Redwoods
Our day started in the stillness of Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, where sunlight filtered through thousand-year-old trees. The air was cool, fragrant with pine and earth.
Aaron and Alina walked the forest trails in soft laughter and ease no timeline, no rush, just presence. The way the light danced on their faces through the towering redwoods felt timeless, full of life, and sacred.
📍 Location: Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park
📷 Photography tip: Early morning or late afternoon light filters beautifully through the canopy.
The Second Half: Sunset by the Sea
After exploring the forest, we headed toward the coast for the second half of their adventure Twin Lakes State Beach, just a short drive away.
The ocean breeze greeted us as the sun began to dip, and the Walton Lighthouse glowed softly in the distance. We walked barefoot along the shoreline, capturing those last golden rays as the tide rolled in.
The day ended with laughter, wet clothes and sandy feet and a well earned dinner at Pizza My Heart, a local Santa Cruz favorite that’s become a little post session tradition.
📍 Location: Twin Lakes State Beach
🍕 Dinner: Pizza My Heart, Address: 1116 Pacific Ave, Santa Cruz, CA
💡 Best time for photos: Sunset (an hour before when golden hour hits its peak)
Why These Sessions Matter
Adventure sessions are for couples who value presence over production.
It’s a chance to reconnect to step into the story of your love without the noise of a wedding day. You get to breathe, explore, laugh, and just be.
When I design these sessions, I want them to feel like an experience one that’s honest, beautiful, and aligned with who you are.
Whether it’s a post wedding shoot like Aaron and Alina’s or a spontaneous day trip to the coast, your love deserves to be remembered this way.
